Challenges and battles against Nox

What a challenge is, who Nox is, how the boss health bar works and why missing a question takes nothing from you.

4 min read

A challenge is a short quiz made from your own material. Five to fifteen questions: multiple choice, true or false, fill in, and sometimes answering in your own words. It is the form of studying that works best, because trying to pull the answer from memory is what fixes it.

The battle

Hard challenges and missions have a story: illustrated scenes and a health bar for Nox. Every question you answer takes health from him. Mistakes take nothing from you: the bar only goes down, never up. When it hits zero, Nox loses.

Answers are saved: if you leave halfway, you come back where you were.

When you finish

You see first what you achieved, then what's left. Each first-try right answer pays XP; the questions you missed become your next review. A low score is information, not a verdict: it says which topic to touch tomorrow.

Review challenges

On Home, “Time to review” builds a short challenge with the topics that are about to be yours and the ones you haven't seen in a while. It's the challenge most worth doing: it closes topics.
